It’s the last chance to get a glimpse of the future of Coventry and Warwickshire before a major innovation exhibition draws to a close.

Coventry Transport Museum’s Our Future Moves exhibition, which is part of a city-wide project to explore how technology being developed today will impact our lives in the future, is set to close at the end of the month.

The exhibition is part of a 12-month series of community engagement and technology demonstrations designed to showcase Coventry, Warwickshire and the West Midlands' world-beating contributions to transport innovation and imagine a future influenced by modern technology.

The interactive Our Future Moves exhibition explores how future cities may look and how pioneering developments in transport and technology could affect the environment and the way we live.

Displays include a model of Coventry’s Very Light Rail (VLR), which will provide an overground transport link across multiple intercity locations in the years to come, an interactive car grill that mimics how you are feeling by reading your facial expression created by Lythalls Lane-based Vital Auto, and a nano satellite which monitors wildlife populations developed by the University of Warwick.

The strategic partners delivering the Our Future Moves programme include Coventry City Council, CV Life, Culture Coventry, Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Coventry City of Culture Trust, Coventry University, Moto Fest, Transport for West Midlands, Warwickshire County Council and WMG at the University of Warwick.

Francis Nielsen, Cultural and Creative Director of Culture Coventry, said: “We are so proud that the yearlong showcase of Our Future Moves launched with the immersive exhibition at Coventry Transport Museum and will see a year of activities which showcase how Coventry and the wider region are centres of innovation for future transport.

“Make sure you visit the exhibition to discover the world of tomorrow and see how technology can help solve the problems of today.”

The wider Our Future Moves showcase will continue until summer 2022 through a series of events – including demonstrations of the latest technology.
