One of Warwickshire’s most romantic historic hotels has unveiled a new ‘Romance’ staycation for Valentine’s Day 2022.

As couples can now start to plan ahead with more certainty, Coombe Abbey Hotel has created an overnight stay for those wanting to enjoy magical memories in a beautiful setting. It includes a four-course à la carte dinner and breakfast with champagne, flowers and chocolate in the room.

Food highlights on the menu range from a grilled king prawns with Ponzu citrus dressing starter to a strawberry sorbet and balsamic pearl ‘palette cleanser’. There are choices of venison loin, roasted monkfish, slow roasted grass-fed beef medallions and a duo of South West lamb for mains, with vegetarian options including salt baked celeriac served with creamed wild mushrooms.

Tempting desserts such as a steamed blood orange sponge, the ‘Ferrero Rocher to share’, coffee & Bailey’s parfait or British cheeses will be followed by petit fours and coffee.

And with Valentine’s Day falling at the start of the week this year, the Romancing at Coombe overnight package is available for three nights – Saturday February 12, Sunday February 13 and Monday, February 14.

The award-winning former 12th century Cistercian Abbey, once owned by King Henry VIII, has 121 rooms, including its palatial Grand Feature Bedchambers, outstanding period features and a beautiful backdrop. It is surrounded by 500 acres of idyllic countryside, a lake and wooded country park, just outside Coventry.

Rooms such as the luxurious Lady Craven bedchamber will send hearts a flutter with its Downton-Abbey style four-poster bed, split-level bathroom draped with silk curtains and stunning garden views.
