As the Theme Park season draws to a close, Alton Towers Resort will host the UK’s biggest and most sensational display, using a combination of dramatic fireworks, ground-breaking special effects and a surprise element that has never been seen at the Resort before.

The Alton Towers Fireworks Spectacular is celebrating the Resort’s awesome, world-class rollercoasters, including Nemesis, Oblivion and Wicker Man, playing homage to the backstories with a specially curated, unique soundtrack spanning several genres, from rock to pop and drum and bass to classical. The show will take place at the Staffordshire-based theme park on three nights, from November 4th, 5th and 6th.

With the famous Towers as the backdrop, the 2022 show has been designed to evoke emotion and spark imagination using hundreds of lights, incredible lasers, mind blowing fire effects, stunning video, a specially curated soundtrack and world-class fireworks, showcasing the UK’s largest and most spectacular fireworks show. From 5pm, guests also can enjoy a pre-show with live entertainment and a DJ.

The Resort has revealed it has taken over 12 months to devise, design and create the showstopping performance and will take more than 3 weeks, 27 articulated lorries of equipment and a show crew of more than 60 experts to build ahead of opening night.

Opening each day of the event from 10am, guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy the Theme Park’s world-renowned rides and attractions into the evening and in the dark until 9pm, closing off the 2022 season with a bang. This weekend will also be the last chance for thrillseekers to ride Nemesis before it closes on Sunday 6th November.

Chris Carter, Events and Entertainments Director at Alton Towers Resort, said: “This year, we have hosted even more fun and thrills for families and thrillseekers. We kicked off the season with a thrilliant celebration of our awesome world-class rollercoasters and we’re excited to be ending the season by playing homage to the iconic rides with a specially curated soundtrack which will represent the personality and iconic backstories of the rides.”

“We really hope it will evoke the emotion and thrill that we are aiming for and that we have felt putting this year’s showstopper together. Not only does it celebrate the Resort’s iconic rollercoasters, but it also aims to capture what the Resort means to our guests.”

The Alton Towers Fireworks Spectacular will take place on November 4th – 6th and pre-booking is essential. Tickets start from £42pp and include all day Theme Park access, 10am – 9pm, and the Fireworks Spectacular. Alton Towers Resort's Fireworks Spectacular sounds like an absolute treat for the senses! 🎆 Celebrating the iconic rollercoasters with a unique soundtrack and special effects is such a brilliant idea. It's amazing how these events can bring the same level of excitement and anticipation as launching a new software project or debugging a complex code. I'm particularly excited about the surprise element that's never been seen at the Resort before. Has anyone experienced this fireworks event in the past? And how does it compare to other fireworks displays you've seen? 🎢💥
