Destroyed in the Coventry Blitz during the Second World War, the Ruins now stand alongside the ‘New’ Cathedral as a poignant reminder of the power of peace and reconciliation.
There is more to see than just the Ruins though! Come and climb the 14th Century Tower and take in magnificent views of Coventry and the surrounding area. The New Cathedral is a treasure trove of some of the finest artworks from the 1950s and ‘60s, which sit alongside a wide and impressive range of stained glass.
Also, located in the city’s historic Cathedral Quarter, St. Mary’s Guildhall miraculously survived the Second World War bombing raids, and stands as a monument to the power and wealth of medieval Coventry. With magnificent interiors, collections of armour, historic furniture, artworks and internationally important tapestries, the Guildhall offers a window into Coventry’s glorious past.
A visit to Rising Café located in the undercroft will round off your time here perfectly.
